Hardeners

Resin cures to a high-strength plastic solid, by mixing a specific proportion of hardener in the resin. The working times of different resins depend on the used resin and hardener.

Our product range includes Nouryon's, which is one of the leading organic peroxide producers, Butanox and Trigonox hardeners. Butanox is the leading brand in methyl ethyl ketone peroxides (MEKP). Butanox is also the most stable MEKP on the market, and it can be used in most glass reinforced plastic (GRP) applications. In addition to traditional GRP applications, Butanox is used in everything from cars to bathtubs, and from fishing rods to chemical storage tanks.

Usually, we have the below listed organic peroxides available at our warehouse in Kokkola.
When storing organic peroxides, it should be kept in mind that due to their relatively unstable nature a loss of quality can be detected over a period of time.

TypeDescription
Butanox M-50Glycol free general purpose MEKP for the curing of polyester and vinyl ester resins and gelcoats. An organic peroxide that is very suitable for almost all GRP applications.
